Subra is a white main-sequence star in the constellation Leo. At 130 light years away, it is the 292nd brightest star in the Earth's sky, where it shines at an apparent visual magnitude of 3.52. Subra is the primary component of a multiple-star system. It is moving through the Galaxy at a speed of 38.2 km/s relative to the Sun. Its projected Galactic orbit carries it between 20,500 and 25,200 light years from the center of the Galaxy. It came closest to the Sun 700,000 years ago when it had brightened to magnitude 2.83 from a distance of 95 light years.
