Xi Leonis is a yellow giant star in the constellation Leo. At 215 light years away, it shines at an apparent visual magnitude of 4.99. The iron abundance of Xi Leonis is -0.08 (83.2% of the Sun). It is moving through the Galaxy at a speed of 52.2 km/s relative to the Sun. Its projected Galactic orbit carries it between 14,800 and 24,500 light years from the center of the Galaxy. It came closest to the Sun 827,000 years ago when it had brightened to magnitude 4.35 from a distance of 160 light years.
