d1 Puppis is a blue main-sequence star in the constellation Puppis. At 591 light years away, it shines at an apparent visual magnitude of 4.84. It is moving through the Galaxy at a speed of 34.8 km/s relative to the Sun and is part of the NGC 2451A moving group. Its projected Galactic orbit carries it between 22,900 and 25,000 light years from the center of the Galaxy. It came closest to the Sun 3.9 million years ago when it had brightened to magnitude 3.91 from a distance of 385 light years.
