f Puppis is a blue main-sequence star in the constellation Puppis. At 359 light years away, it shines at an apparent visual magnitude of 4.53. f Puppis is a component of a multiple-star system. It is moving through the Galaxy at a speed of 26.9 km/s relative to the Sun. Its projected Galactic orbit carries it between 23,000 and 24,300 light years from the center of the Galaxy. It came closest to the Sun 3.6 million years ago when it had brightened to magnitude 2.82 from a distance of 163 light years.
