HD 60414 is a red giant star in the constellation Puppis. At 1,304 light years away, it shines at an apparent visual magnitude of 4.82. It is moving through the Galaxy at a speed of 37.8 km/s relative to the Sun and is part of the NGC 2422 moving group. Its projected Galactic orbit carries it between 23,900 and 26,500 light years from the center of the Galaxy. It came closest to the Sun 9.4 million years ago when it had brightened to magnitude 2.91 from a distance of 540 light years.
