HD 224143 is a yellow main-sequence star in the constellation Aquarius. At 137 light years away, it shines at an apparent visual magnitude of 7.88. The star's age is estimated to be 6.3 billion years but is certainly no less than 1.7 billion years and no greater than 10.4 billion years. The iron abundance of HD 224143 is -0.12 (75.9% of the Sun). It is moving through the Galaxy at a speed of 15.8 km/s relative to the Sun. Its projected Galactic orbit carries it between 23,900 and 37,100 light years from the center of the Galaxy. It came closest to the Sun 2.5 million years ago when it had brightened to magnitude 4.98 from a distance of 36 light years.
