HR 8881 is an orange dwarf star in the constellation Cassiopeia. At 1,034 light years away, it shines at an apparent visual magnitude of 6.39. It is moving through the Galaxy at a speed of 39.5 km/s relative to the Sun. Its projected Galactic orbit carries it between 16,900 and 24,800 light years from the center of the Galaxy. It will come closest to the Sun 7.3 million years from now when it will brighten to magnitude 4.15 from a distance of 368 light years. HR 8881 has one confirmed planet known to date (Dec. 2012).
